Kevin Durand And Lukas Haas Set For Dark Was The Night

The thriller from Tyler Hisel appeared on the 2009 Black List of unproduced scripts under the titleThe Trees. Produced by Caliber Media Co, Sundial Pictures and Preferred Content, Kevin Durand (Robin Hood) and Lukas Haas (Inception) star in the feature, set in an isolated town where a logging company has interrupted the balance in the local woods, and an evil emerges threatening the locals. Sabina Gadecki (Freaky Deaky), Heath Freeman (Skateland), and Nick Damici (Stake Land) also star. Jack Heller will direct the feature, which begins principal photography Sunday. Heller is producing with his Caliber partner Dallas Sonnier and Sundial’s Stefan Nowicki.Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashina and Ross Dinerstein will executive produce alongside Sundial’s Joey Carey and The Molecule’s Ted Markovic. Hisel and manager Alexander Robb are also executive producers and Iwashina will handle domestic sales.Durand is repped by WME, Alchemy Entertainment, and attorney Dave Feldman. Haas is repped by Innovative, managers Chuck Pacheco and Rick Yorn, and attorneys PJ Shapiro and Julian Zajfen. Hisel, repped by Katie Cates of Kaplan-Stahler and Alexander Robb of Insignia Entertainment, sold his pilot The Brink to Sony TV with Gran Via producing last fall.Dark Was The Night is his first feature.
